Meet Our Panelists:
Lee Ann Adams: Lee Ann Adams is the Manager of Bakery Development at Sheetz, Inc., where she oversees new bakery product creations. A Certified Master Baker since 2011, Lee Ann has taught at The Culinary Institute of America and was honored as Faculty Member of the Year in 2013. She is also a board member of the Retail Bakers of America and serves as the lead judge for the Certified Master Baker exam. Lee Ann was also a three-time finalist and two-time team alternate for the U.S. in the Coup du Monde de la Boulangerie (World Cup of Bread Baking) in Paris.
Kristin Egan: Chef Kristin Egan, a Certified Master Baker since 2018, is an accomplished pastry chef and educator with extensive experience in some of New York City's most award-winning restaurants, including The Modern and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. She holds a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), where she now serves as an Associate Professor and Certified Hospitality Educator. At the CIA, she teaches a variety of courses, including Basic and Classical Cakes and Advanced Baking Principles. Chef Egan also founded Egan Sweets, a successful business providing hand-made desserts and wedding cakes. Her rich background and expertise make her an invaluable panelist for our "Becoming a Certified Master Baker" webinar.
Aileen Semenetz: Aileen has been in the professional baking world for over 18 years. After gaining her Bachelor’s degree in Finance, she took a turn and enrolled in a baking and pastry program at a Culinary School in New York City. While attending school, she started working at Sullivan Street Bakery and never looked back. Over the next ten years, her production skills were honed in bakeries and restaurants including; Hot Bread Kitchen, Ovenly, Bakeri and per Se. She then moved into a Research & Development role at Tribeca Oven, where she has been for the past 8 years. Learning about and baking bread continues to be a daily inspiration and joy. Becoming a Certified Master Baker was always a goal, achieving this in 2022.
Derek Corsino: Derek Corsino is a Pastry Chef and educator with over fifteen years of experience in the foodservice industry. A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Derek earned his Certified Master Baker (CMB) certification in 2024. Derek has appeared as a competitor and judge on Food Network and started a specialty cake business in the Hudson Valley, New York. In addition to his culinary accomplishments, Derek’s background includes a strong foundation in business and finance, which he has integrated into his teaching roles at institutions such as Napa Valley College, Stratford University, and Santa Rosa Junior College.
