Susan Nicolais, CAE Susan has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit, association management. She is responsible for working with the Board to move RBA in a strategic direction and for managing RBA’s general operations. Susan has served in numerous volunteer leadership positions with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and with the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE). She currently serves on the ASAE Ethics Committee. Susan has been a Certified Association Executive (CAE) since 1998 and holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

PAUL SAPIENZA Paul is from Elmont, N.Y. and is the second generation in the baking industry. In 1973 he took over a retail bakery from his parents, which also had a wholesale division manufacturing Italian pastries. The retail store is managed by his wife, Roseanne, and son, Andrew. In 2007, Paul merged the wholesale business with the Brooklyn Cannoli Company which continues to manufacture under the Sapienza Pastry label. Paul also served as past president of the New York State Association of Manufacturing Retail Bakers. He holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting.

KELLEY McCLENDON Kelley has extensive experience working with small businesses. She and her husband owned their own business for many years. Kelley has strong customer service skills and has worked in customer service in several of her positions. In addition to her general office experience, she also has accounts receivable, accounts payable and data entry experience. Kelley is responsible for working with the Certification Committee and managing the certification program. She is also the primary contact for members and is the database manager.
