 Southeastern Retail Bakers Association Invites You to Attend Our 2011 Birmingham Convention July 23 thru July 25, 2011

The convention starts off early Saturday Morning with Dawn Food’s Free Bakery Tour of 4 local bakeries. Our exciting Allied Exhibit opens Saturday afternoon, followed by two workshops that you can choose between:  “Building Your Business Around Crème Cake Base” Product Workshop, Sponsored by Dawn Food Products & Flavor Right Foods... or “Super Quick & Easy Gumpaste Flowers” Decorating Workshop, with award winning decorator, Rebecca Sutterby, from Sugar Creations, in Kansas.  We will recognize our allied exhibitors at our Saturday Night Meet ‘N Greet Dinner with Karen Isbell, as our motivational speaker. 

Our program features two simultaneous sessions Session A – Management/Production/Training and Session B – Decorating.  

On Sunday morning:

 Session A will be “Product Showcase” Featuring Local Bakers,  “Fancy Torte Cakes” Demonstration by Strossner’s Bakery, and “Social Media 101: One Year Later” Presented by General Mills/Pillsbury.  

Session B will be “Perfect Fondant” Demonstration by our featured decorator, Rebecca Sutterby, of Sugar Creations, in Kansas, and “Decorating With Chocolate” Sponsored by Guittard Chocolate.  At our Sunday night President’s Awards Banquet, the trophies for our Baked Foods Competition will be given out and the winner of our Decorating Competition will be announced.  

The convention will conclude on Monday morning with our Owner’s Only session “Networking In and Out of SRBA!”, followed by more simultaneous sessions. 

On Session A, “Expand Your Business With Extras That Sell Themselves” Featuring Local Bakeries, and “Cross Train Your Employees to Increase Profitability & Reliability” with Ellen Cooke;

and on Session B, a “Decorator’s Showcase”.

We hope that each of our attending bakeries will bring several entries for our Baked Foods Contest; they might take home one or more of the nice trophies being given to the winner of each category.  For a complete list & description of the categories, check our website: www.southeasternretailbakers.com.

You will also find a complete schedule of event, bio’s, hotel information, and a registration form; as well as, other convention information on our website.  All current members of RBA, SRBA, Deep South, GSWRBA, or any other bakery association can take advantage of the “Members” registration cost.
